Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP)

In 2008, the GRDP of this province amounted as much as Rp. 56,44 triliun. The biggest contribution accounted by agriculture sector (31.06%) followed by manufacturing (26.65%), trade/restaurant and hotel (19.51%) and other services (6.50%). In the period of 1998-2000, the growth of GRDP was 9.30% per annum.

Export-Import

In 2008, the export value recorded as much as US$. 9,260,000,000, decreased by 5.86% compared to that of the same period in 2000. The decreasing of export value was due to the diminishing prices of several main commodities such as cooking oil, rubber, coffee, processed cooking oil, animal feed, vehicle's tire, furniture and its appliances. 

In 2008 the total import value amounted of US$ 3,506,000,000, increased by 11.02% compared to that of the figure in 2000. The main import commodities are among others raw materials, semi-finished goods, consumer goods as well as capital goods.

Minimum Wage Rate. In 2009, the provincial wage rate (Upah Minimum Propinsi) was around Rp. 1,000,000/month - Rp. 1,020,000/month depends on the business sector.
